# Getting started

> Your invitation, the two agreements and your team.

## Your invitation

There's no sign-up form. Our team creates your practice in Denialbase and invites its owner by email. Open the
invitation, set your password and confirm your title; you land on your practice's Home.

<Note>
  Lost the email? Ask us at [support@denialbase.com](mailto:support@denialbase.com) to send a new invitation.
</Note>

## The business associate agreement

Because the claims you send us contain protected health information, your practice and Denialbase sign a
**business associate agreement (BAA)** before anything moves.

* As soon as the owner accepts the invitation, the BAA is sent to them to sign, with Denialbase's signature
  already on it. If your practice's details (legal name, NPI, tax ID, address) are incomplete, our team
  completes them first and the BAA goes out then.
* Home and To do show **Sign the business associate agreement** until it's signed. Until then, sending claims
  stays closed.
* Owners and admins can download the signed copy any time in **Settings → Agreements**.

## The practice engagement

The **practice engagement** is the agreement that lets us file appeals in your practice's name. It states our
fee, the payment terms and where invoices go.

* It's sent for signature after the BAA, once our team has set the fees agreed with you. It shows up in To do
  as **Sign the engagement**.
* Invoices go to your practice's billing email (**Settings → Practice**), which starts as the owner's email.
* You sign it in **Settings → Agreements**.

## Your team

Invite the people who send claims and follow cases in **Settings → Team**. Each person has one role:

| Role | Can |
| - | - |
| **Owner** | Everything an admin can. The person our team invited. |
| **Admin** | Send claims, invite patients, sign agreements, manage the team, sign-in rules and API keys. |
| **Viewer** | See Home, what was sent, reports, cases and To do. Can't send or change anything. |

Choose how your team may sign in (password, Google, magic link, passkey, single sign-on) in
**Settings → Sign-in**. See [Settings](/guides/settings).
